SHOW INFO

My musical journey is a fascinating interplay of different genres that have inspired me in different ways. Punk was the first style that captivated me with its raw energy and rebellious spirit. The powerful lyrics and impetuous music encouraged me to find my own voice and stand up against convention.

Reggae brought a whole new dimension to my musical understanding. The relaxing rhythms and profound messages of this music showed me how important it is to express emotions and social issues through sound. Reggae taught me to see the world from a different perspective and to use the power of music as a means of expression.

With the discovery of indie pop and indie rock, I experienced a fresh perspective on the music world. The unconventional approaches and authentic lyrics of many indie artists appealed to me and encouraged me to tell my own stories through music. Bands like The Smiths and Arctic Monkeys showed me that music doesn’t always have to be big-budget to be profound and moving.

New wave brought an exciting fusion of punk and electronic sounds. The catchy melodies and innovative use of synthesizers opened up new creative possibilities for me. Artists like Blondie and Duran Duran showed me how to combine different styles and inspired me to experiment with sounds.

Electronic music, especially the pioneering work of Kraftwerk, had a decisive influence on my musical development. Their innovative approach to sound and technology revolutionised my view of music. Kraftwerk showed me how to use machines and synthesizers to create emotions and atmospheres. Their ability to create futuristic sounds while addressing social issues deeply impressed and inspired me.

These six genres – punk, reggae, indie pop, indie rock, new wave and electronic music, especially through the influence of Kraftwerk – have had a major impact on my musical identity. They inspire me not only in my own music, but also in my understanding of creativity and expression. Each genre has its own charm and helps me to constantly find new ways to express my passion for music.

SHOW ARCHIVE

here are the last 6 shows

Radio Artland has now been running for about 5 years. We started in a bar that was closed during Covid — as a way to stay connected with people who couldn’t meet up in person. Since then, we’ve grown with wonderful DJs, a variety of styles and genres, and — most importantly — a fantastic listening community.

Here you can enjoy the latest shows from each DJ or the shows they represent. Have fun!
