DJ Schuby presents the third episode of ‘Die Neue Deutsche Welle – Vom Punk zum Kommerzschrott’ (The New German Wave – From Punk to Commercial Rubbish), a three-part programme that provides a cross-section of one of the most important musical phases in German music history. The NDW subsequently made it easier for many German-singing musicians to establish themselves on the music market.
The last episode is about the downfall of the NDW, because the music industry turned everything that was sung in German into an NDW song. Some musicians and bands dropped out to avoid being swallowed up by the commercial machine.
